Housing for Texas Heroes

Cove House is partnering with the Texas Veterans Commission's Housing for Texas Heroes program to repair and refurbish the homes of veterans in Lampasas, Coryell, and Bell counties.

Assist low-income homeowners among veterans by providing essential repairs, improvements, and renovations to their primary residences. This direct assistance ensures a safe, dignified, and stable living environment, reinforcing their long-term self-sufficiency and ability to maintain homeownership.

Required Documentation

1. Proof of Veteran Status Including Character of Service: DD-214, NGB 22

2. Proof of Low-Income: 80% and below the median family income for the county from which you are applying, total family income. Below is the maximum allowable income for the counties listed below:

    a. Lampasas: $81,850

    b. Coryell: $65,750

    c. Bell: $65,750

3. If Claiming Disabled Status: VA Disability Letter

4. Proof of Home Ownership: warranty deed, special warranty deed, listed as owner with county tax records.

5. Proof of Homestead: verifying home is the primary residence receiving Project services.

6. County Tax Statement, Mortgage Loan Statement, paperwork showing paid off ownership.

Please provide the required documentation with the application for the Cove House to properly review and determine the eligibility of your requested assistance. If approved, Cove House will determine the scope of the project. This may include only approving portions of the proposals submitted.
